Dear CCMG Fellows, Trainees, Program Directors and Examinations Committee members,

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the CCMG Examinations Committee, with approval of the Board of Directors, has revised the 2020 CCMG Examinations to reduce travel and permit physical distancing. The spring Examinations have been postponed to September 15 – 17, 2020 and the in-person OSLEs will be reformatted to a written component.

The new schedule of the 2020 CCMG Examinations is as follows:
Tuesday, September 15th: General Examination (3 hours)
Wednesday, September 16th: Specialty Written Examination (3 hours)
Thursday, September 17th: OSLEs (written only, 2 hours)

These three Examinations will be held at the local CCMG accredited training centre. Due to the unprecedented circumstances of COVID-19, candidates will be allowed to sit their Examinations at their local CCMG accredited service centre if it is closer. The exception to this would be if both centres are in the same area. If a candidate is outside of Canada, they may sit the Examinations under the adjudication of an APPROVED CCMG or ACMG Fellow.

Without doubt, these are extremely challenging times, and we are endeavoring to provide a safe and equitable examination process that ensures our candidates are assessed to the same standards as in previous years. Should the situation unexpectedly change, the candidates will be notified immediately.
